We are aiming to build a use case for an AR gym companion ( working title XO Studio ).
What if you could go to a gym get simple glasses that connect you to your personal workout system and just start your workout without thinking about tracking your reps, your progress, your music ( or audiobooks ) and your workout plan
The goal is to provide the experience of tomorrow with the technology of today.
By foregoing the general purpose use case we try to exploit the gap between now and when standalone glasses become feasible in the future.
This will be achieved by building it with several currently existing components in a way that will be acceptable for the specific gym use case.
Features
- Running on "dumb" optical AR glasses
- 6DOF tracking added on top of it

XO Studio variants
The self contained glasses are the final evolution of XO Studio but this is not the only variant that will be supported.
There are multiple different ways how the XO Studio user can interact with the system.
- A) Glasses with displays that can track their own position with 6DOF as well as at least the hands ( and parts of the body )
- B) Use case without visual feedback. Interaction with the system happens through audio only. The user is wearing self tracked devices on the head and/or the wrist/ankles for repetition tracking. The computation is done on an external device which can be a phone or the XO Studio puck
- C) current version Glasses are not self tracked but do have displays. Tracking of the body is done via self tracked devices. The computation is done on the XO Studio puck which integrates the tracking data and renders the correct view on the glasses.
- D) Cameras are mounted either on the gym machines directly or cameras on the puck are used to track the body and interaction with the XO Studio system. Feedback is provided via audio.
- E) Similar to A) but using current generation display passthrough HMD devices
